After the task completed, there was one partition with 1TB left unused on my new SSD due to the size difference between old and new drives. I cloned my 1tb harddisk to 2tb ssd easily using the clone wizard.
Again, lots of videos and documents available online to show how to use it. As dictated on one of the earlier comment/reply, I downloaded the free edition of Niubi, and set it up. Majority seemed happy and gave good ratings with well deserved positive feedbacks.
Before downloading and testing it, I checked this truspilot website to read the comments. at the end of the day, it's not really free), finally I bumped in to Niubi. After couple hours of search and installing/testing a bunch of other recommended so called "free" applications (why you call free when you ask for codes or credit cards or sign up here and there. My system was in good shape, therefore I did not want to spend countless hours to re-build the operating system and setup all the other applications from scratch. Next, I needed an application which can clone my entire old 1TB conventional SATA harddisk to the new 2TB SSD. My laptop has limited ventilation and narrow space for the m.2 type SSD, so I purchased one of the coolest operating one. Beware: do NOT buy the fastest SSD even though they're very tempting, because they come with "heat" problem. There're lots of videos and documents online available to show how. I installed it to my laptop in half hour, very easy. Kudos to Niubi developers and managers, hats off!!! MY STORY: I purchased a brand new m.2 type 2TB SSD yesterday. Simply download free version, setup, and run the clone wizard to clone the disk, that's all. And no, you will not need to reveal any credit cards, or sign up for anything anywhere, or asked for codes and such. I just cloned my entire disk in few hours successfully.
Search for these keywords (I took it from one of the earlier Niubi replies): hdd-tool (dot com) free download It has all the capabilities with partitions and disk management, but I was specifically interested in disk cloning. SUMMARY: Niubi is genuinely "free" for home use, well, if you download the free edition, as of 30-July-2023, supporting Windows 11, too.
